Eric Palevsky (palevsky@volcani.agri.gov.il) is a researcher in the Department of Entomology at the Newe-Ya’ar Research Center of the Agricultural Research Organization, The Ministry of Agriculture, Israel (http://www.agri.gov.il/departments/13.aspx). He did his undergraduate and graduate studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI) graduating in 1997 and his Post-Docs in Oregon USA on IPM in orchards and at HUJI on spider mite control in date palms in the Southern Arava Desert of Israel. His national and international research activities are focused on the integrated control of plant-feeding mites, conservational biological control in outdoor systems using acarine predators, food provisioning for the enhancement of acarine bio-control agents in protected crops and acarine-fungal pathogen-plant interactions (http://www.agri.gov.il/en/people/723.aspx). He established and served as the convener of the International Organization of Biological Control “Integrated Control of Mite Pests” Working Group from 2007-2017. His current research on soil food webs is focused on the utilization of soil predatory mites for the conservation biological control of soil pests, taking into consideration multi-trophic interactions, as well as soil abiotic effects.
